Let’s Fight!
After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” (Nehemiah 4:12 NIV)
As I’ve been teaching on the previous Sunday mornings, it’s time to contend for our loved ones. Just as Nehemiah commanded the Jews who were diligently working to build up the walls around the city of Jerusalem to fight for their families and faith, I ask you to do the same. One of the first things you need to do is, list the people God places on your heart to pray and fast for. Keep the list with you throughout the day. Whenever God prompts you, begin to pray for them. The Holy Spirit will give you discernment on what to pray for.
Don’t be afraid to pray for difficult challenges they may be going through. Think about this, some of your loved ones have no one to pray for them. Take it as a privilege and honor to be moved by the Holy Spirit to call out the names of your loved ones. They don’t know it, but you are their lifeline.
During this consecration season, make it a priority to keep your mind and heart on HIM and watch God move on their behalf and yours!
