I remember when I was a little girl, it seemed as if time went by so slowly. In particular it seemed as if summers went on forever. There were always games to be played; hopscotch, jacks, and mother-may-I, just to name a few. My friends and I had a great time flirting with the boys while walking to the store to get hot fries, and grape pop. How I long for the days when my biggest worry was if there was any milk left after my brothers had cereal.
As adults there is much to do; work, kids, elderly parents, spouses, bills, and the list goes on and on. In this era of technology, gadgets were supposed to make our life easier. However, they have just filled our life with more stuff, more things to think about – cell phones, Internet, Facebook, twitter and the like.
We would like to think that we don’t waste our time because of our busyness. However, it’s our busyness that wastes our time. We’re busy updating Facebook. We’re busy on the Internet. We’re busy on our phones. We’re unable to focus on our purpose because we don’t put in the necessary time it takes to focus on our purpose. Most of our busyness is like candy – it provides temporary fulfillment and ultimately harms the body. If we want to be full and have life-long health, then we need to be about Gods business for our life.
I encourage you to put down the phone, get off Facebook and put in some time toward your purpose. Stop killing time, by wasting it. There is somebody that needs what you have to offer. Are you willing to put in the time?
I don’t want you ending up in blind alleys, or wasting time making wrong turns. Proverbs 4:12 The Message bible
Love you to life!
