Grow Through Life

Growing – it’s something that takes time, effort, and sometimes a little pain. It’s something that we all must do, in order to avoid becoming stagnant. Growing can also be fun and exhilarating. Growing is stretching beyond your boundaries and limitations.

Life – it’s this time that God has given us here on this earth. It’s our experiences. It’s our hopes, dreams, disappointments, losses, achievements and everything in between.

There is a childhood song that says, “Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, live is but a dream”. The song has a wonderful tune, and you can sing the round robin with it, but in actuality, if life is but a dream, then it’s really a nightmare. If your life is nothing but dreams, in essence you never really live. You just dream about everything. There’s no action to what you see in your dreams. There’s no waking up and doing what you see in your dreams. Paul Valery said “The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up”.

However, many times in our lives, we just “go through the motions”, we’re just going through life. My challenge for you today, is to begin to grow through life. When challenges come, and they will; don’t just look at the situation and say to yourself, “I’m just going to get through this”, instead say to yourself “I’m going to GROW through this”.

In my front yard there is a small pine tree. I noticed it growing about two years ago in the mulch, next to a much larger tree. It was just a little bitty thing, only a couple of inches tall. I almost pulled it up, which could have been easily done since it was so small. But, I decided to leave it and see what happened. Well, two years later, with no attention, and no full sunlight because the larger tree blocks some it, it has grown so tall that we now have to dig around it, and move it to a much larger place so that it can continue to grow and thrive or else it will take over the other tree!

Just like that pine tree, I want you to take what life has given you, and be determined to grow through it. When you’re growing, you’re always expanding, you’re always out-the-box, you don’t allow limitations to be placed on you, and you’re always reaching upward.
Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. Colossians 1:10 NLT

Love you to Life!

I have heard people say how there were things that they wish they could have done but for one reason or another felt as if it was too late. I sympathized at first but realized it is never too late. As long as we have breath in our bodies there is still time. As we grow in Christ we will face many challenges but in the end We Are Coming Out Gold…
