Four Things I Learned at the Gym – #2

Please read #4, then #3 before reading #2

We’re all there for the same thing – As I look around at the people at the gym, I realized that we are all there for the same thing. We’re all striving to be better. We’re all going about it in different ways. Some people run, some swim, some use weights, and some use a treadmill, but at the end of the workout, we’re all pushing toward our goal of being better. Avoid the tendency to judge someone because they are doing something different than you; or pushing toward a goal differently than you would because someone else’s process is not your process. Neither is your…theirs. Don’t judge someone else’s process and what they have to do to be better. It’s very easy for us to look at someone else’s life and say “If I were them, I’d do…”. However, it’s much more difficult to apply the same advice to our own life. Focus on your process and you’ll achieve your goals.

1 Corinthians 1:10 – But I urge and entreat you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in perfect harmony and full agreement in what you say, and that there be no dissensions or factions or divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your common understanding and in your opinions and judgments.
