Don’t Turn Around

Twice in the last few months, I have been traveling on the highway when the traffic has come to a halt due to construction or an accident. As I sat in the driver’s seat contemplating what was going on ahead of me, and being a little bit aggravated because I had to wait in traffic, I noticed something happening. Both times, there were cars that were ahead of me, and when they came to a split in the highway used for police cars to sit or emergency vehicles to use, they used that opportunity to turn their car around and go back in the other direction.

I thought this action was very bold, not to mention illegal and could have gotten them killed as they tried to merge into oncoming traffic. I raised my eyebrows and continued to listen to music on the radio, while the traffic moved slowly along. A funny thing happened both times, after traveling maybe 100 feet or so, the traffic suddenly cleared and I was able to continue to my destination. However, I gave a thought to the cars that went back in the other direction. If they had only stayed in the traffic in the direction they were going, they would have gotten where they were going to, with only a slight delay. Now, they had gone back into some other unknown direction, which was going to take them much longer to get to their destination.

God spoke to me both times and said, “Don’t be so quick to quit and go back. The road may seem slow and may appear that you’re not getting anywhere, but stay in your lane, and hold tight. The road will soon open up, and you’ll get to where you’re going. Just don’t give up and turn around”.

Many times in life, it may seem like life is on hold and you’re stuck in a holding pattern. Whatever you do, don’t give up and turn around. Just when you’re ready to quit and turn around, they road may be getting ready to open up for you, and you’ve missed your opportunity. Whatever you do, don’t turn around.

Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. GOD, your God, is with you every step you take.” Joshua 1:7-9

Love you to life!
